Learning continues beyond the bell.
A student's learning does not only occur during school hours!
Before & After School Program funding provides opportunities for students in elementary through high school to engage in learning activities or support that encourages creativity, innovation and excellence. Each school determines the program that best fits the needs of their student population, and NEF funding supports Naperville 203 staff to run the program.
NEF supports before and after school programming for students to continue their educational experience beyond the bell by funding extracurriculars that may exist outside the school's budget.
Some Before & After School Programs running this year include:
- Community Resource Center at Naperville Central: Will support over 100 students to establish and foster positive relationships, increase belonging and build skills needed to have success in the educational environment.
- Homework Club at Washington Junior High: Will provide students with targeted math and literacy support after school.
- Homework Club at Jefferson Junior High: Will provide students with support to be successful in their content classes and demonstrate progress toward their math and reading goals outside of the school day.
Examples of past NEF-Funded Before & After School Programs:
- Homework Club
- Math Club
- Early Birds
- SOS: Supervised Open Study
- Study Skills
