Diana Torres Hawken

Diana Torres Hawken is a community volunteer and Trustee since 2021. In addition to serving on the NEF Board, she serves on the City of Naperville's Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission. She is also a Founder and current Vice President of ALMAS (Alliance of Latinos Motivating Action in the Suburbs), the first Latino-led and Latino-serving nonprofit in Naperville. She previously served on the Boards of AAUW Naperville Area, the Naperville Police Foundation, Nuestro Futuro/"Our Future" (largest affinity fund servicing Latinx communities housed at The Chicago Community Trust), Maplebrook Elementary's Home & School and Hobson Cooperative Preschool (Naperville). Diana holds a Master’s in Sociology from the University of South Florida and a BA in English and Sociology from Kenyon College. She was born in Colombia, South America and is fluent in Spanish. She lives in Naperville with her family. “The work being done by NEF is providing additional opportunities for access, growth and exposure for the entire community,” Hawken said.
