September 2022 brought our first Express Grants of the year, new ways to support NEF, and anticipation for TEAM NEF!

Our first 2022-2023 Express Grants have been awarded! Congratulations to the following September winners:

Master Math Minds Homework Club

Tracy Pisarski - Kennedy Junior High

This grant funds materials for a math homework club where students receiving math intervention can receive extra homework help after school.

Engaging and Empowering Students Through Authentic Spanish Literature

Eulalia Hernandez - Beebe Elementary

This grant will provide the funds to purchase diverse and authentic Spanish literature for students in the third, fourth, and fifth grade dual language classrooms.

Giant Word and Math Winder

Kelly McGroarty - Beebe Elementary

Popular games, Giant Word Winder and Giant Math Winder, will be purchased for Honors Math and PI students to boost engagement in class. 

GaGa Pit

Kevin Quaid - Mill Street Elementary

Purchased materials for a GaGa Ball pit, a new, organized, and specific game for all recesses during school day.

Representation Matters - Learning Inclusivity through Play

Reyna Nungaray - Elmwood Elementary

This grant will provide all six kindergarten classes with Educational Multicultural Pretend Play Figurine Family Doll Sets. 

Games for Good: Bringing 7th Grade Science Alive!

Liza Palubicki, Elise McNamara, Alisha Waters, and Vanessa Daker - Jefferson Junior High 

This grant will purchase board games and materials for a periodic table relay race for 7th grade chemistry and biology classes.

J.McLaughlin Fundraiser on September 30

Join NEF Chair Kim Henderson for a festive afternoon of sips and fall shopping  at the Downtown Naperville J.Mclaughlin (216 S. Main Street) on September 30 from 3pm-7pm and have 15% of sales go to NEF! Thank you to J.Mclaughlin for supporting NEF as you celebrate 5 years in Downtown Naperville.

Chipotle Fundraiser on October 11

Do good for NEF with Chipotle! Order online or pickup from the NEW Market Meadows location (1315 S. Naper Boulevard, suite 101) between 5pm and 9pm and use the code 8PHELK3 or dine in and show the flyer/say NEF at checkout to have 33% of your purchase donated to NEF. Sponsor the FIRST LEGO League Tournament

In November, over 300 students will come together to compete at the 2023 Naperville 203 FLL Tournament. Watch this video to see the amazing work that inspired the expansion and the first district wide FLL tournament in 2019! Support TEAM NEF

TEAM NEF is a group of parents, teachers, students, staff, and community members, running or walking and raising funds for NEF and Naperville 203 schools as Charity Heroes in the Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon & 5K on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Although registration is now closed, you can still support our runners/walkers and your school, or plan to come to the race and cheer on our runners!
