| NEF had the pleasure of welcoming a new staff member and two new student ambassadors to the organization this month. |

| Laaiba Mahmood, Marketing and Communication Coordinator
Laaiba joins NEF as our Marketing and Communication Coordinator. A recent graduate and D203 alumna with experience in journalism and marketing, she is thrilled to put her creative storytelling skills to use to support NEF’s mission and vision. |

| Andrew Lazovski, NCHS Student Ambassador
Andrew is driven by a deep passion for understanding the intersections of biology, politics, and humanitarian aid. Guided by characteristics such as determination, patience, and creativity, he aspires to contribute meaningfully to the broader community and the world at large. |

| Cathy Yang, NNHS Student Ambassador
Cathy is involved in student government, speech team, and orchestra. Outside of school, she enjoys tutoring students and volunteering at a district court. Through her experiences, she has seen the impact volunteering can have, elevating her passion to give back to the community. As a result, she is excited to better the D203 community! |

Distributing School Appreciation Grants |

We have distributed $23,000 in School Appreciation Grants to District 203 schools for the 2023-24 year. The $1,000 in discretionary funds support the unique needs of each school. Thank you to each school for supporting our students!
