Welcome our new trustees and celebrate our outgoing trustees!

Welcome to our newest trustees!

We are thrilled to welcome our new trustees who will help further our mission with their time and expertise.

John Risvold is a Personal Injury Trial Lawyer and Partner at The Collins Law Firm P.C. John holds degrees from the University of Missouri and a J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law. John is a parent to three Naperville 203 students and is involved in the community as one of seven elected Naperville Park District Commissioners, working to further the Park District’s mission. “I come from a family of educators and I believe education is the key to solve many of the issues we face in America and in our communities,” Risvold said. “I am passionate about education and the mission of NEF. I believe my experience as a community leader, attorney and father of young children in the district [will] provide me with a unique insight and view point that could assist NEF.”

Sue Salness is a retired Naperville 203 Principal and has been a lifelong part of the Naperville 203 community. Sue holds a degree in Elementary Education/Special Education from Iowa State University, a master’s degree from the National College of Education and a master’s degree from Benedictine University. Sue has been an NEF Programs/Kid Booster Anonymous Committee Member since 2024, applying her expertise as a past District 203 educator and administrator to support NEF programming goals. “As a member of District 203 in the capacities of student, teacher and administrator for the past 50+ years, I have witnessed the tremendous positive impact of NEF programs and initiatives on our community,” Salness said. “Working as a Trustee to continue this work and ensure the ongoing success of NEF in empowering students, staff and families [is] an honor and privilege and a means of giving back to an organization that has enhanced and supported my [past] role as a building leader within District 203.”

Brian Cantor is an advisory executive focused on driving growth and value across a range of companies and organizations. Brian holds a degree from the University of Houston Honors College (and is still excited about his alma mater's achievements in the 2025 Final Four!). Brian is a parent of a Naperville 203 student and currently serves on the Board of Zero Gravity, a weightless flight startup for space enthusiasts. “I have a deep and committed interest in helping our young people achieve success, leveraging academic excellence into emerging and leading edge entrepreneurial organizations,” Cantor said. “Aligning education with complimentary real-world opportunities is a core value and focus and I hope to contribute to our continued excellence.”

Our newly elected officers are Stephanie Hebron as Board Chair, Audrey Lane as Board Vice-Chair and John Bramlette as Treasurer. Kelly Llewellyn will continue to as Secretary.

We are also excited to welcome Kristine Gericke as a voting member of the board, serving as the Board of Education representative.

Meet Llarry the Llama!

Meet Llarry the Llama, Naperville 203 Summer Learning's official mascot!

Last week, we took a trip to Naperville 203 Summer Learning at Lincoln Junior High where we met Llarry.

The tile gym was filled with energy. Students were competing in Llama ring toss and a line to take photos with Llarry snaked along the wall.

We were honored to meet Llarry, pet his oh-so-soft fur and be a part of his journey to Summer Learning!

Thanks for joining us at the Naperville Woman's Club Fine Arts and Artisan Fair

Thanks for braving the heat to visit the NEF booth at the Naperville Woman's Club Fine Arts and Artisan fair to say hi and celebrate student artwork featured on notecard sets.

Each set of notecards has a piece of original artwork by one talented student from each Naperville 203 building on it. That's 23 unique notecards that you can send, frame or gift!

Sets are still available for purchase now!

Thanks for joining us at Evereve

Thank you for joining us at Evereve in Downtown Naperville last week! It was lovely to enjoy shopping, sips and snacks together despite the downpour outside.

15% of sales were donated to NEF. Thank you!
