NEF Annual Grant Award Submissions

The Naperville Education Foundation’s (NEF) mission is to “encourage creativity,
innovation and excellence in our students.” Since its founding in 1992, NEF has helped to
give students the edge that’s vital to compete and succeed in a complex, fast-paced world.
We believe that helping children (Kid Booster Anonymous Fund, The Breakfast Program),
enriching student learning (Math Camp, Study Skills Academy) and funding creative
programs (Annual Grant Awards) ensures that the quality of each child’s education is the
best it can possibly be. NEF is inspired by the potential inherent in all children to thrive
and be enriched by their experiences in school.

As School District 203’s charitable, fundraising and grant-making arm, NEF’s Annual Grant
Awards are funded by community donations. Proposals may be initiated by students,
faculty, staff, parents and community members for District 203 projects. Proposals are
reviewed by teams made up of NEF Trustees, District 203 faculty, staff and administration,
community members and District retirees.

The NEF Annual Grant Award Applications will be accepted from January 2, 2014 until
February 1, 2014 by 4:00 pm. Applications should be submitted electronically to NEF at Award decisions will be announced by the end of March.

NEF supports projects that correlate to District 203 curriculum including but not limited to
the following areas: Literacy, Math/Science, Fine Arts, Health/Physical Development,
Cultural Studies and General.

Honor a Teacher and the Building a Passion Breakfast, we are able to provide on-going programs
