NEF Announces Building A Passion for STEM
BUILDING A PASSION FOR STEM

The Naperville Education Foundation (NEF) is pleased to announce that Nate Ball, STEM
zealot, Emmy winning host of PBS kids show Design Squad Nation, author of “Alien in My
Pocket” book series and beatboxer will be the keynote speaker, courtesy of Anderson’s
Bookshops, at its 23
rd Annual Spring Breakfast “Building a Passion for STEM” on
Thursday, May 5, 2016. Coffee and networking begin at 7:00 a.m. with the breakfast and
program from 7:30-9:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites, located at 1823
Abriter Court, Naperville, Illinois. The annual Building a Passion fundraiser celebrates
NEF funded programs and their direct influence on the students, teachers and parents in
Naperville Community Unit School District 203.
Alan Krashesky, veteran news anchor and reporter, will serve as emcee. He is the co-anchor
of ABC 7’s top-rated 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. weekday news shows and host of “NewsViews,” the
political and current affairs segment featured on ABC 7’s Sunday Morning News.
2016 marks the 23rd annual Building a Passion breakfast fundraiser. “Building a Passion for
STEM” will include student art and music, the announcement of the Celebrating
Inspiration and Distinguished Service Awards, the inaugural Alan D. Krashesky Prize and
the Scholarship Awards. The funds raised from the event fund all NEF programs in district
203 schools: Kid Booster Anonymous Fund, Start the Day (formerly Breakfast Program),
Annual Grant Awards, Junior High Math Camp, Trustee Awards and Study Skills Academy.
Individual tickets are $80.00, tables of 10 are $750.00 and sponsorship levels include
$1,000 – Gold Partner; $2,500 – Platinum Partner; and $5,000 – Sustaining Partner.
