NEF Announces 2015 Grant Proposal Writing Workshop


A free event for the community

Naperville Education Foundation, Naperville School District 203’s philanthropic
fundraising and grant-making arm, announces its 14th annual, free “Grant Proposal Writing

NAPERVILLE, Illinois, August 24, 2015 – The Naperville Education Foundation (NEF) is
now accepting registrations for its 14
th annual, free “Grant Proposal Writing Workshop” to
be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a repeat session from 3:30-
5:30 p.m.

The workshop will take place at Naperville School District 203’s Administrative Center, 203
W. Hillside, Naperville, Illinois. Interested parties should register for the am or pm session
with NEF at the email address provided above.

This nuts-and-bolts workshop provides attendees with basic information needed to prepare
a high-quality grant proposal. Topics will include: project development, crafting a needs
statement, evaluation methods and building a budget. There will be time set aside for small
group discussion, learning from one another, and networking.

Advice will also be given on how to complete the NEF Annual Grant Award application
which is due on February 1, 2016.

With over 55 years of combined experience in grant-writing, fundraising and project
management, the workshop is presented by Suzyn Price, District 203 Board of Education
member, original presenter; Julie Carlsen, Director of Community Relations, District 203;
and Ann E. Spehar, Executive Director, NEF.

socio-emotional growth, and “Study Skills Academy”, a before/after-school program for students
who need academic assistance.
