NEF Annual Grant Award Submissions
Alan D. Krashesky & NEW Donald G. Schroeter Prizes Plus NEW Social Emotional Learning Category
NEF wants to give you money!
Our Annual Grant Awards program is underway and we want to give you money! NEF is
focused on providing enriched opportunities for learners and assuring that all students have the
opportunity to maximize their individual and collective potential – and we need your fresh
- The Alan D. Krashesky Prize winner will be selected from the applications submitted in
the Literacy category that are broadly focused on journalism, research, speaking,
writing or reporting.
- Our two new Donald G. Schroeter Prize winners will be selected from the applications
submitted in the STEM category. One prize for a STEM student Application Originator
and one prize for a STEM teacher Project Lead or Application Originator.
- A new category has been added this year, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and includes
applications that focus on developing awareness and managing emotions, setting and
achieving personal and academic goals, using social-awareness and interpersonal skills
to establish and maintain positive relationships, and demonstrating decision-making
and responsible behavior to achieve school and life success
Teachers, students, parents, staff and community members are welcome to apply – and the application is simple to fill out. Grant applications in seven categories, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, General, Literacy, Physical Health, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering & Math), will be accepted from January 1, 2017 until February 1, 2017 by 4:00 pm. Applications should be submitted electronically to NEF at email@example.com.
Proposals are reviewed by teams made up of NEF Trustees, District 203 faculty, staff and administration, community members and District retirees. Award decisions will be announced in April. Grant application forms and instructions are available on our website at
